A weekly dose of olive oil could be better than Viagra at helping enhance a male’s performance in the bedroom.
A new study from Greece indicates that all you need to do is include a few spoons of olive oil in your diet. “This is a drug-free solution that allows men to keep their sexual function. But also, a long-term answer to protecting a man’s ability to perform in the bedroom,” Dr. Chrysohoou added. “Viagra does not improve something long-term, it can only give some short effect in order to have the sexual capacity.”
The study which published by the University of Athens observed over 600 men and found that just nine tablespoons of olive oil per week is enough to reduce impotence problems by approximately 40 percent.
The researchers explained how the Mediterranean diet had a positive outcome on male sexual performance. It appears that olive oil is the main factor to do so by promoting dilation of the artery which improved blood flow, and in turn, improved sexual function in the participants.
In addition to the cardiovascular health benefits, the Mediterranean diet is believed to reduce the risk of metabolic syndrome, which includes diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity and high lipids levels.
It’s now recommended that the men, who had an average age of 67, to switch to a Mediterranean-style diet which focused on eating fruits, vegetables, fish, nuts, and replacing all butter with olive oil. Also, patients are recommended to reduce the number of processed meats they usually ate.
